#21 Muleriders Ride the Long-Ball to Run-Rule Victory over Rangers

MAGNOLIA – The SAU Softball team opened their final home series of the season with an emphatic, five-inning run rule over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Friday.

The scoring started in the first inning when Faith Otts drove in a pair of runs off of a double down the left field line.

Sarah Evans led off the second inning with a single before she was driven home through Makana Morton's fourth homerun of the season, a no-doubter over the left field fence.

The next inning saw a Laina Suesue walk and an Elisa Favela infield single set the stage for Christina Hill, who drove everyone on her fourth homerun of the season, just sneaking over the right-center fence.

Evans would proceed to go back-to-back with her first baseman, a solo shot to left field that put the Muleriders at their final run total of eight.

Victoria Taylor was nearly flawless in her four innings of work, only allowing one hit and one walk while striking out four, her 11th win of the season.

Crystine Kistner made her season debut in relief of the senior, pitching a perfect inning and recording a strikeout to end the game.

The Muleriders go for the sweep tomorrow against the Rangers. Before tomorrow's game, the Muleriders will honor their eight seniors.
