Searcy, Ark. – The SAU Softball team extended their win streak to 10 games on Sunday, completing the sweep of Harding. After hitting five homeruns in the double-header yesterday, the Muleriders left the yard three times en route to a 6-1 victory.
Laina Suesue drew a walk in the first inning; she was promptly sent home courtesy of a
Faith Otts homerun, her second two-run homerun of the weekend.
Christina Hill tacked on another run with a solo homerun to lead off the next inning; that run would be cancelled out with a Harding solo homerun in the bottom part of the frame.
Sarah Evans completed the scoring in the top of the third inning with a three-run shot.
Landry Newgent, in relief of starter
Elisa Favela, picked up her first win as a Mulerider, throwing three shutout innings, striking out two and only allowing one hit.
Alese Casper accounted for three of the Muleriders' eight hits. On the season, the centerfielder is hitting a team-high .392.
The Muleriders are now 18-6 on the season and 14-4 in conference play. They return to action next weekend in Shawnee when they play Oklahoma Baptist in a three-game conference series.
