MAGNOLIA – It was senior day inside the W. T. Watson Center for the Mulerider Volleyball program as they honored
Morgan Gross and
Lauren Smith before tonight's match versus rivals Arkansas-Monticello.
The Muleriders took the first set from the visitors before dropping the next two sets. In set four, the Muleriders held a 23-21 lead before the Blossoms rallied to score the final four points and secure the victory.
Victoria White grabbed the spotlight with a game-high 19 kills and an attack percentage of .581; she was followed closely behind by
Kenadee Poye with a career-high 15 kills and a .275 attack percentage.
Seniors Gross and Smith recorded 13 and 10 kills, respectively, with Smith hitting .500 in 16 attempts.
Defensively, libero
Brianna Nipper recorded a game-high 23 digs.
Morgan Schuster posted 56 assists, tied for fourth-most in a four-set match in Mulerider Volleyball history. The 56 also tied the sophomore's career high for assists in a match, last done on November 12
th, 2019 versus Ouachita Baptist (56 assists in five sets).
Both teams ended the game with 64 kills, with the visitors hitting .305 and the Muleriders hitting .304, their best mark in a game this season.
The Muleriders will be the sixth seed from the Eastern Division entering next week's GAC Tournament; they close out their regular season on Thursday when they host Harding.
