MAGNOLIA – The SAU softball took to the field to finish off their conference series against the Savage Storm, having split yesterday's double-header.
The game got off to an ideal start for the Muleriders, pushing a run across in the first inning via a
Faith Otts sacrifice fly.
However, that would be the only run for the Muleriders in the game.
The Storm scored three runs of their own, a two-run homerun and a run scored on a sacrifice bunt being the difference in this contest.
Jaxynn Dyson and
Alese Casper both notched two hits, as well as one of those hits being for extra bases.
Sydney Wader pitched yet another complete game for the Muleriders, taking the loss as she allowed five hits and three runs in seven innings, also striking out eight and only walking two.
The Muleriders are now 10-6 on the season and 7-4 in conference play. They return to action on Tuesday when they host Arkansas Tech in a non-conference double-header before hosting Henderson State next weekend.
