MAGNOLIA – The SAU Volleyball took part in only their second home match of the spring season when they hosted Henderson State. For the match, the Muleriders recorded more kills than the Reddies, as well as more blocks, assists and digs; however, the Reddies took all three sets, scraping them by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-23.
For the match, the Muleriders recorded a .267 hitting percentage, the second-best mark the Muleriders have posted under head coach
Lindsey Parks.
Morgan Gross led all players with 10 kills on the night, also recording two blocks and eight digs.
Morgan Schuster assisted 40 times, her career best in a three-set match. On the season, the sophomore is averaging 10.25 assists per set and has 205 assists on the season.
Bailey Kirk recorded a game-high 16 digs as the libero, and
Lauren Smith and
Kenadee Poye each recorded nine kills. Smith hit .533 on 15 attempts and added four blocks.
The Muleriders return to action next week for a pair of games, going to Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday before hosting Arkansas Tech on Thursday.
