CABOT, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Men's Golf team concluded the first round of action at the Natural State Classic in 14
th place. Freshman
Brendan Little currently sits tied for 13
th after shooting a 74 (+2) on Monday afternoon at the Greystone Country Club (Par 72 – 7,051). Little totaled 11 pars in the first round, including four straight after starting the day with a birdie on No. 1. He finished the afternoon with an eagle on No. 18.
The young Muleriders overcame a collective +40 on the front nine to finish +19 on the back nine. As a team, SAU shot 324 (+36) in round one.
Freshman
Caleb Miller finished the first round with an 81 (+9). He matched Little's 11 pars and added a birdie on No. 5. Classmate
Connor Harrington finished at +10 on the front nine, but opened the back nine of play with five straight pars and two more on the final two holes as he shaved eight strokes on the back nine to finish the day with an 84 (+12).
Freshman
Andrew Bennett made par four times through the first nine holes and added four more on the back nine, while capping the round with a birdie on No. 18. Bennett shot an 85 (+13) on Monday. Freshman
Tim Ryan recorded eight consecutive pars on Monday.
