Searcy, Ark. – The SAU Volleyball team went on the road for the second time this season, this time making the three-hour drive up to Searcy to face divisional preseason favorites Harding.
Despite trading the lead seven times in the opening stages of the first set, the Bisons went on a four-point run that saw them pull ahead and claim the first set 25-19.
The Muleriders made it closer in sets two and three before dropping those sets 25-23 and 25-21.
Morgan Gross led all players with 14 kills in the match. The senior hit .320 in 25 attempts and recorded eight digs. Gross now has 48 kills on the season, averaging 4.00 kills per set.
Morgan Schuster led all players with 29 assists. The sophomore setter is now only 11 assists away from eclipsing 1,000 career assists as a Muleriders;
Brianna Nipper led all players with 11 digs, improving her season total to a team-best 47 digs; and,
Victoria White and
Lauren Smith recorded five and four blocks, respectively.
The Muleriders are back in action next Tuesday when they welcome Arkansas Tech into the W. T. Watson Center.
