Arkadelphia, Ark. – The SAU Women's Basketball team returned to action for the first time in a week when they took on Ouachita Baptist for the first time this season.
A first quarter where the Tigers went 10-19 from the field while the Muleriders only shot 5-18 proved to be the ultimate difference, with the Muleriders unable to carve into the double-digit deficit, with the final score settling on 102-86.
The Muleriders shot 46.2 percent from three, going 12-26 while the Tigers went 11-21 from deep.
Jessica Jones led the Muleriders in scoring with 18 points. Jones went 6-8 from three, also grabbing four rebounds and blocking three shots.
Kisi Young,
Kenzie Ezekiel and
Ariana Guinn also scored in double figures.
Young scored 15 points on 4-7 shooting from the field; she made her lone three-point attempt and went 6-8 from the free throw line. Ezekiel scored 13 points, grabbing four rebounds and three steals; and, Guinn scored 12 points, going 3-4 from three-point range.
The Muleriders are back in action on Monday when they take on Arkansas-Monticello for the second, and final, time for the regular season.
