MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas University volleyball team was unable to finish against Arkansas Monticello inside of the W.T. Watson Athletic Center on Tuesday evening as they fell in five sets (25-22, 19-25, 26-24, 22-25, 14-16), while
Morgan Schuster passed the 2,000 career assist mark, becoming the 5
th player in SAU history to do so.
The Muleriders collected more points (75-69), kills (62-50), and assists (49-35) than the Cotton Blossoms.
Schuster came in today's match needing 22 assists to surpass the 2,000 mark, and obtained it in the second set, while going on to finish with a game high 45.
Victoria White and
Landry Rogers both finished with a game high 17 kills.
SAU had three players collect double figures in the digs category as
Samantha Still finished with 14, while
Bailey Kirk and
Alexa Heard each tallied 12.
Isla Olivas totaled four blocks, while Schuster and
Abby Bermudez collected two. Bermudez also had a team high three service aces.
The Muleriders will travel to Arkadelphia on Thursday to take on Ouachita Baptist. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
