Arkadelphia, Ark. – The SAU Volleyball team, playing for the first time since October 2019, were competitive in their season opener, pushing the hosts in Henderson State, but were ultimately not enough as they fall three sets to one.
The Muleriders out-killed the Reddies 43-41 and took the third set 25-21 as they hit .250 for the set.
Morgan Gross led all players with 15 kills on the night and an attack percentage of .140.
Morgan Schuster out-assisted the opposition on her own with 38 assists to Henderson State's 34 assists. The sophomore also recorded nine digs and blocked two attacks.
In their collegiate debuts,
Victoria White and
Brianna Nipper both recorded double-digit digs with 13 and 10, respectively. White also added eight kills and a pair of service aces.
The Muleriders are back in action next Tuesday as they open inside the W. T. Watson Center against Ouachita Baptist.
