MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas football team treated their Homecoming crowd of 3,874 to an all-around impressive game as SAU blew past visiting Southern Nazarene by a score of 62-7 on Saturday afternoon at Wilkins Stadium.
 
With the win, the Muleriders (4-3, 4-3 GAC) will finish the 2014 season unbeaten at home (4-0). A feat not accomplished since the 1999 season when the Muleriders went 5-0 at home.
 
In the win, the Muleriders would total 605 yards of offense while the defense limited the Crimson Storm (0-7, 0-7 GAC) to just 88 yards of total offense.
 
Over half of those total yards came on the ground for the Muleriders as they netted 355 yards rushing, which was just two yards shy of their season-high set in the first game of the season. Spearheading that outstanding rushing total were tailbacks Deandre Jenkins and Deion Williams. Both would eclipse the 100-yard mark as Jenkins finished with 129 yards and two touchdowns while Williams had 108 yards and one score. It was the first time since 2005 that the Muleriders would have two players rush for over 100 yards in the same game.
 
In the passing game, the Muleriders would total 250 yards and four touchdowns. Starting QB Si Blackshire would play until the fourth quarter and the senior would throw for 187 yards and three touchdowns. Backup QB Stevie Joe Dorman would add 63 yards passing and one touchdown as he relieved Blackshire.
 
On the receiving end of those passing touchdowns were Jared Brown, Tanner Hudson, Jenkins, and Zikerious Ware. For Brown, Hudson, and Jenkins that was their lone grabs in the game. Ware would end up leading the team in receptions with seven as he totaled 135 yards.
 
Defensively, the Muleriders would total 10.0 tackles for lost yardage with 6.0 of those coming via the sack. Hayden Rybiski would lead the team in sacks as he was in on 1.5 sacks. The Muleriders would also force a pair of turnovers as they recovered two fumbles, one in the endzone by James Thurston and the other on a muffed punt return which was recovered by Jacob Pumphrey.
 
The leading tacklers for the Muleriders would be Thurston and Keanu Soto as each ended with seven tackles.
