Durant, Okla. – The SAU Women's Basketball team suffered their first loss of the season against ranked opposition, dropping today's contest 83-75 to #21 Southeastern Oklahoma State.
Diamond Morris led the Muleriders in scoring with 15 points on 7-16 shooting from the field. The freshman grabbed a game-high four steals as the Muleriders forced 23 Savage Storm turnovers.
Falling down 14-3 early in the first quarters, the Muleriders fought back to make it 16-14; however, the Storm stayed in the ascendency for the game, holding leads of 10 points three separate times with the visitors able to close the gap but not close it entirely.
Kylie Warren scored in double-digits for the third game running. The sophomore scored 10 points on 4-9 shooting, making two of her three attempts from three. Warren also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Camryn Fennell and
Alyssa Crase both scored nine points; Fennell chipped in a pair of made three-pointers, as well as two assists and two steals, while Crase grabbed five rebounds.
The hosts shot 57.1 percent from the floor, making four of their eight three-point attempts, which ultimately made the difference on the day.
The Muleriders are back in action on Thursday inside the W. T. Watson Center as they host Arkansas-Monticello in a Battle of the Timberlands matchup.
