DURANT, Okla. – Southern Arkansas led 13-11 with 12:42 remaining in the first half of Saturday afternoon's Great American Conference affair with NR/RV Southeastern Oklahoma, but the Savage Storm went on to outscore the Muleriders 30-16 in the half to take a 12-point lead into the intermission. The Muleriders fall to 5-9 overall and 2-6 in league play after the 77-55 loss inside Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
The Muleriders shot 87.5% from the free throw stripe but managed only eight attempts against SOSU which entered with the 15
th-lowest fouls per game average in Division II. The Savage Storm shot well in the victory with 31 makes for a 54.4% success rate from the floor.
Junior forward
Devante Brooks led the Muleriders with 16 points; his seventh game this season with 15 more points, and eight rebounds. It is the fourth time this season that he has led the team in both scoring and rebounding. Junior guard
Aaron Lucas added nine points and registered five of the team's nine assists. Four players scored six points for Southern Arkansas.
