Olivia Faught and true freshman
Carolina Kysiak each shot an opening round 82 to lead the Southern Arkansas Women on Monday afternoon at the Central Oklahoma Classic from The Golf Club of Edmond. The pair is currently tied for 44
th, but sit just five strokes back of tenth place. As a team, SAU is in 12
th place among the 17-team field.
SAU's 334 as a team puts them just six strokes back of entering the top 10 and 20 strokes back of fifth-place Cameron.
Freshmen
Eva Renner and
Chelsea Chow each finished the first 18 holes at 85 and tied for 62
nd, while sophomore
Mackenzy Turner shot an 86 and is tied for 68
th. Sophomore
Peyton Gasaway, who is playing as an individual, shot an 89 in round one.
On par-3 scoring, Faught finished at even and also delivered three birdies on Monday. Renner and Gasaway also added birdies during the first round.
