After suffering their first home loss since the 2015 season, which ended Division II Football's longest active home winning streak, Mulerider Football looks to bounce back this weekend on the road in Russellville. At 2-1, the Muleriders clash with an 0-3 Arkansas Tech team that lost to Arkansas-Monticello in overtime, trailed Ouachita by eight points at the half, and suffered a six-point defeat on the road to the league's top offense in Henderson State. The two teams meet for the 83rd time with the Wonder Boys holding a 46-32-4 advantage in the series. In the 47 games played since 1970, the Muleriders own a series record of 26-20-1 over ATU. In that same time span, the Muleriders are just 8-13-1 in Russellville. Additionally, the last road team to win a meeting in the series came in 2007 when Southern Arkansas won 56-49.
Entering the fourth week of the season, the Muleriders boast top five  GAC offensive marks in rushing offense (189.7 ypg | 3rd) and total offense (375.0 ypg | T5th). Through three games, the Muleriders have been perfect offensively in the redzone coming away with seven scores, three touchdowns and four field goals, in as many attempts. Defensively, SAU ranks second in total defense allowing 273.0 yards per game behind the second-best passing defense at 124.3 yards per game which ranks ninth nationally. The Wonder Boys enter the match up averaging 323.0 yards and 19.0 points per game.Â
