#4 Muleriders make final regular season trip to Oklahoma

Shawnee, Okla. - The SAU Softball team makes their final trip up to Oklahoma this regular season to take on the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist in a four-game conference series.

The Bison are 12-22 on the season and 6-16 in the GAC. They are coming off a weekend where they were swept by Arkansas Tech and a split in a midweek series against rivals Southern Nazarene.This season, they have split a series with Northwestern Oklahoma State and lost three of four games in series against Henderson State, Ouachita and Harding. On the season, the Bison are hitting .260 with 67 extra-base hits and 126 strikeouts and 84 walks in 34 games. The Bison reach base at a .336 clip and are slugging .384. The offense is led by sophomore catcher Frankie Hull, who is hitting .418 on the season with 11 doubles and 3 home runs and scored a team-high 21 runs. The catcher also has a team-high .482 on-base percentage and .622 slugging percentage. In the circle, the Bison have a 4.55 team ERA with 129 strikeouts and 119 walks in 220.0 innings this season. Opponents are hitting .315 against the Bison, who have allowed 90 extra-base hits this season. The Bison are led by Katie Long, who has a 3.60 ERA on the season and has thrown 105.0 innings in 24 appearances. Long has struck out 74 batters and allowed 41 walks while giving up 18 home runs on the season as opponents are hitting .300 against her. After this weekend, the Bison will travel to Monticello to take on the Blossoms in a four-game conference series. 

The Muleriders are 28-6 on the season and 19-3 in the GAC. They are the fourth-ranked team in the country and are on a 10-game winning streak. The Mulerider offense is batting .288, reaching base at a .391 clip and are slugging .514. They have hit 48 home runs on the season, led by Chelsea Fagan's 14. The junior is also hitting a team-high .330 on the season and scored a team-high 29 runs while slugging .818. The Mulerider pitching staff owns a 1.90 ERA, striking out 223 batters in 221 innings this season. Opponents are only hitting .201 against the Muleriders.

After this weekend, the Muleriders host Bison rivals Southern Nazarene in a four-game conference series.
