MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Men's Basketball team ended their regular season campaign on a high note as the Muleriders dominated visiting Oklahoma Baptist inside and on the boards on Saturday afternoon to claim a 66-47 Senior Day win inside the W.T. Watson Center. The win snaps a four-game losing skid for SAU and locks in the Muleriders as the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Great American Conference Tournament on March 7-10. Southern Arkansas meets No. 5 Henderson State on March 8 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, in a 5:45 p.m. tip-off.

The Muleriders (19-9, 14-8 GAC) cap a regular season that included a Division II Era-best 19 wins and a 13-1 mark at home. SAU now prepares for their eighth appearance in Bartlesville; the only league team to make the trip in all eight years of the conference.

On Saturday, Southern Arkansas dominated the paint (34-12) and the glass (49-29), which prominently led to a 17-1 scoring disparity in second-chance points which went in the favor of the Muleriders. Southern Arkansas' 49 rebounds tied the team's season-high.

SAU carried a 14-point lead into the intermission and outlasted the Bison in a low-scoring second-half. Defensively, the Muleriders forced the visitors into a 40-minute shooting clip of 26.5% (13-of-49) from the floor and a 17.2% (5-of-29) mark from beyond-the-arc. Oklahoma Baptist's points (47), field goals made (13), and field goal percentage (.265) were all opponent-lows for Southern Arkansas this season.

Redshirt sophomore forward
Charlie Thomas nearly messed around and recorded a double-double as the passionate big man delivered a game-high and season-high 15 points; the most since the Vilonia, Arkansas, native dropped a career-high 22 points in the Bison's previous trip to Magnolia (1-25-18). His eight rebounds are a season-high and he added two blocks.

Sophomore
DeVante Brooks logged a double-double of 13 points and a dozen rebounds; his sixth such performance this season. Brooks also added a pair of steals. In their final game inside the W.T. Watson Center, senior
Draylan Perkins finished with ten points, three boards and two assists, while classmate
CJ Elkins concluded his home-court playing days with eight points, seven rebounds and seven of SAU's 11 assists.
