TEMPE, Ariz. – It continues to be a season of firsts for the Southern Arkansas Men's Tennis program as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its latest Division II Top 25 Team Rankings and among the six teams receiving votes in the most recent poll are the Muleriders. It marks the first time in the program's short NCAA history that a team has been nationally recognized.
 
Southern Arkansas (4-2) is one of five teams from the Central Region to appear in the rankings. Southwest Baptist is the highest ranked region foe coming in at No. 10, while fellow Great American Conference member Ouachita Baptist enters the poll at No. 25. Joining the Muleriders as vote getters are Harding and Washburn.
 
Additional firsts for the SAU Men so far this season include knocking off then-No. 25 Washburn 4-3 as well as sophomore Stuart Rehfuss, the Muleriders' line one player, being named the GAC's Player of the Week.
 
Potential rainstorms this weekend have postponed both the SAU Men's and Women's scheduled home opener on Friday and Saturday. Both SAU teams will open up in Magnolia for the first time this season on Tuesday, February 26 at 3 p.m. against the University of Texas at Tyler.
