Arkadelphia, Ark. - The SAU Baseball team opens conference play this weekend as they return to the ballpark where they split their four games last weekend as a part of the HSU Invitational. The Reddies enter this weekend 3-3 on the season and coming off a midweek loss to UT-Tyler.
The Muleriders are 4-3 on the season and 2-2 this season on Clyde Berry Field. The Muleriders, for the second time this season, had a player named conference player of the week, this time being freshman catcher/designated hitter
Brett McGee. McGee tore the cover off the ball, including hitting a grand slam that helped the Muleriders come back and win in their game against Arkansas-Fort Smith last Thursday.
The Reddies went 2-1 last weekend, with wins over Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western before dropping the last game to Delta State.
Following this weekend, these two teams will meet again in a midweek game, this one taking place in Magnolia at Walker Stadium at Goodheart Field. The Muleriders will then host the Bisons from Harding in a three-game set while the Reddies will head up to Russellville to face Arkansas Tech.
