Magnolia – The SAU Women's Basketball team looks to match their season-long winning streak of three games this Saturday when they face off against the Ouachita Baptist Tigers in Arkadelphia.
The Muleriders enter this game with a 5-1 record on the season, splitting their pair of opening GAC games. The Muleriders lost in Arkadelphia two weeks ago to Henderson State before hosting a ranked Harding team and beating them inside the W. T. Watson Center.
The Muleriders are currently on a five-game losing streak to the Tigers, not picking up a win against them since January 21, 2017. Their last win in Arkadelphia stretches back even farther to January 23, 2016. The Tigers took both games last season, winning in Magnolia 67-55 and escaping with a 63-59 win in Arkadelphia this past February.
The Tigers return four players from last year's team – Majia Gerstone, Eden Crow, Madison Brittain and Madison Raney – as they currently only have eight players listed on their roster. The quartet combined for 35 of the Tigers' 63 points the last time these two teams met.
On the season, the Tigers are currently on a two-game winning streak after dropping their first five contests – wins over Central Baptist and Williams Baptist sees the Tiger stand 2-1 overall in Bill Vining Arena.
The Muleriders will look to ride their hot hand of late in
Diamond Morris, as the freshman has turned in a pair of 20-point performances for the Muleriders in wins over Harding and Missouri S&T.
The Muleriders will also look to pick up their first win in December in the
Adam Collins era and the first for the program since a December 30, 2017 win over Crowley's Ridge.
