Magnolia – The SAU Women's Basketball team opens the doors of the W. T. Watson Center tomorrow as they host Missouri S&T in a non-conference matchup – including free admission to the public.
The Miners won the reverse fixture over the Muleriders 78-58 last year in Rolla as
Ariana Guinn and
Kylie Warren scored in double digits with 16 and 11 points, respectively.
The Muleriders are currently 4-1 on the season and are coming off a 76-71 win over #18 Harding on Saturday. Their win over the Lady Bisons sees the Muleriders surpass their win total from a season ago.
The Miners currently sit 3-2 on the season – a pair of opening weekend losses to Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan preceded a three-game winning streak – and have lost their only road game of the season so far, 69-64 to Trevecca Nazarene.
Over their past three games, the Miners have an average margin of victory of 34 points. On the season, they are led offensively by Mykala Baylor, who is averaging 13.2 points per game. Additionally, Maddie Raley (12.6), Laura Rodriguez (11.2) and Marta Durk (10.0) also average double digits in scoring.
In their matchup last season, the four of them combined for 34 of the Miner's 78 points, with Raley going for 16 points and Laura Rodriguez scoring 10 off the bench.
For the Muleriders, they currently lead the country in offensive rebounds per game with 23.5; they also rank in the top ten in steals (6
th), steals per game (4
th) and turnovers forced (3
rd).
