Alva, Okla. - The SAU Women's Basketball team lost in Oklahoma on Thursday to a Northwest Oklahoma State team that shot 14-25 from behind the arc and scored a season-high 92 points.
The Muleriders were led in scoring by freshman
Jerica Bell, who scored a career-high 19 points on 8-11 shooting from the field and 3-5 shooting from the free-throw line. Bell also grabbed eight rebounds in 27 minutes of action.
Redshirt sophomore
Brette Wacha scored 17 points for the second consecutive game, going 5-6 from behind the arc, grabbing two rebounds in the process. Sophomore
Maggie Evans grabbed seven rebounds and scored three points, all from the charity stripe, and recorded an assist and a steal.
Kylie Warren scored seven points on 3-7 shooting from the floor, and
Erin Brinkley scored seven points on 2-8 shooting, and 3-4 shooting from the free-throw line.
Tamera Shaver tossed a team-high five assists to go along with three points.
Senior
Olivia McWilliams went scoreless on one attempt from the floor in 19 minutes in her first game of the season, and the Muleriders' top-scorer this season,
Ariana Guinn, was shut out on four attempts from the field.
The Muleriders fall to 1-10 on the season and 0-5 in the GAC; they go to Weatherford to take on GAC leaders Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday.
