DALLAS, Texas – Southern Arkansas battled their second nationally-ranked opponent of the season on Thursday evening as they took on #17 Texas A&M-Commerce inside the Burg Center at the Dallas Baptist Tri-Match. Despite a dominant start to the third set, the Muleriders were unable to force a fourth frame as the Lions picked up a straight sets victory.
OF NOTE
- The Muleriders (3-7) produced 13 kills to just four errors in 44 total attempts in the third set as they jumped out to a 15-6 lead and appeared to be headed for a fourth set.
- SAU's big run was highlighted by seven kills from five different players and a service ace as the Muleriders took off from a 3-3 tie to push their lead to 15-6.
- The Lions however rallied with a 19-7 run behind a .222 attack clip; the team's lowest of the match after producing hit clips of .300 and .368, to win their fourth straight.
- Freshman Ciarra Wright and sophomore Bailey Cagle combined for 13 of SAU's 22 kills. Cagle's .261 attack clip is her third-highest such mark in ten matches this season.
- Cagle also added a season-high seven block assists. Southern Arkansas totaled nine blocks as a team.
- Freshman Fabiola Rivera accounted for 18 of the 19 SAU assists.
- Rookie Camryn Bihary led with ten digs; her ninth double-digit dig performance this season. She also added a pair of service aces to give her 15 for the season.
