HIGHLIGHTS & HAPPENINGS
- In the bottom of the second inning, Southeastern would plate a pair of runs, both on a pair of errors in the frame that would make both of those runs unearned to take a 2-0 lead over SAU.
- SAU would get one of those runs back in the next inning on a sacrifie fly off the bat of Otts, and then proceed to tie the game in the top of the fourth after Monica Islava led-off with a triple to the left-center field gap and later scored the tying run on an RBI single from Megan Godoyo to make it 2-2.
- SAU had a big fifth inning that allowed them to grab the lead, 7-2, after scoring five runs on eight hits.
- Megan Godoyo drew a bases-loaded walk that would plate the go-ahead run in that inning, and Sarah Pitre plated a run after that on a fly out to center field that made it 4-2.
- Rachel Miller stroked a 2-RBI double into left field, and Otts singled home another run to cushion SAU's lead, 7-2.
- Southeastern answered in the bottom of that frame with a 2-run homer to left-center field that would bring their deficit to 7-4.
- Both SAU and Southeastern each put up another run in the contest, but the Lady Muleriders secured the eventual victory at a final decision of 8-5 over SOSU.
