GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS & HAPPENINGS
  • The Lady Muleriders scored early and often to set the tone in game one as they put the game away in the five innings with a final result of 9-1 over the Lady Tigers.
  • The first of SAU's runs was credited to Faith Otts as she singled home Rachel Miller, who beat out an infield single earlier in the inning, and gave SAU a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
  • Starting pitcher Victoria Taylor worked quickly in the bottom-half of that frame as she retired the first three hitters in OBU's lineup and the Lady Muleriders would respond with a 5-run inning following that frame to back Taylor and jump out to a comfortable 6-0 lead in the top of the second.
  • Megan Godoyo singled to lead off that frame for SAU and eventually found herself at third base after a pair of wild-pitch advances. Goad drew a 2-out walk later in that inning that brought Miller to the dish where she would drive in the first run of the inning on a single up the middle to make it 2-0.
  • Otts plated the next pair of runs in that sequence with a 2-RBI single right back up the middle that extended the lead out to four, and Marina Duran would quickly add to that score in her at-bat as she drove in a pair of RBIs with a base-hit single up the middle to make it 6-0, SAU.
  • The bottom-half of that frame saw Taylor breeze through another 1-2-3 inning in the circle for SAU with a strikeout and a pair of foul outs to send the Lady Mulerider offense back to the dish where they would add some insurance runs on four hits and table the run-rule option in the third.
  • The Lady Tigers eliminated the potential run-rule as they put up a run in the bottom of that frame on an RBI double to cut their deficit down to 9-1, but Southern Arkansas quickly got that run back in the fourth inning with a solo homerun off the bat of Maeson Grace that again put the run-rule in affect and pushed SAU to its eventual final decision of 9-1 after five innings.

IN THE CIRCLE
  •  Victoria Taylor went the distance for SAU as she pitched her way to her fourteenth win in the circle this year with a dominant performance that saw her surrender just one hit and run one in the game while striking out seven.

AT THE PLATE
  • Otts was the offensive catalyst for SAU as she racked up four RBIs on her 3-for-4 performance at the plate
  • Duran collected a pair of RBIs on a hit to follow Otts; and Miller, Islava, and Grace each tallied an RBI
  • Miller was 3-for-3 at the dish with two stolen bags, a walk, and three runs scored
  • Grace and Godoyo collected a pair of hits apiece and a run scored, and Godoyo registered a stolen base

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS & HAPPENINGS
  • SAU got on the board first in the top of the second as they strung together four base-hits in the frame to take a 1-0 lead over Ouachita.
  • Back-to-back singles from Grace and Godoyo lead-off that inning for the Lady Muleriders as Goad capitalized on the scoring opportunity 2-outs later with an RBI single to right field that plated Godoyo for the first run of the game.
  • Otts carried her hot bat into the second game and blasted a solo dinger out to left field in the third that added a run for SAU, 2-0.
  • Miller continued her impressive performance at the dish into the second game following Otts as she drove in both of SAU's runs in the fourth inning with a well-struck 2-RBI single through the left side of the field that extended the lead to 4-0.
  • OBU cut their deficit down to three in the bottom of that frame as they registered a pair of back-to-back two-out hits that influenced their lone run in the contest.
  • The Lady Muleriders added to their lead in the top of the sixth when Goad left the yard with a 2-run shot to right field that cushioned SAU's advantage, 6-1, and sustained the their momentum as the Lady Tiger offense went scoreless the rest of the game resulting in the 6-1 final decision.

IN THE CIRCLE
  • Trahan got the start in the circle and pitched all seven innings for SAU where she would surrender just one run on six hits in the game and added five strikeouts to pick up her third win of the season.
