MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Mulerider Baseball team dropped its series finale with Southern Nazarene on Saturday afternoon as the Crimson Storm produced 14 runs on 10 hits to take the Great American Conference series from inside Walker Stadium at Goodheart Field.
The Muleriders' lone run of the game came off the bat of senior
Mark Fontenot who hit a solo home run in the fourth inning; his sixth home run of the season.
Austin Baker,
Sam Mrstik and
James Trevanion each collected a hit for Southern Arkansas.
With a 5-0 lead after three innings, Southern Nazarene benefitted from an eight-run fourth inning to distance themselves from the Muleriders.
SAU starter
Brian Archibald allowed just two earned runs, while striking out four in three innings of work.
Tanner Vaught and
J.T. Watt combined to work the fourth inning and
Nick Starr surrendered just one run on one hit through the final three innings on Saturday.
