PITCHING DECISIONS
W: Autumn Humes (29-1)
L: Kaylee Garner (19-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Southern Arkansas was able to get some movement on the base paths as they put a pair of runners on in both the first and second innings, but Harding's Autumn Humes kept SAU off the score board.
  • After the Lady Bisons threatened with a pair of hits in the first inning but did not score, Harding pulled away with the timely hits in the third to take the lead, 2-0.
  • A leadoff single followed with a sacrifice bunt placed runners on first and second before they were later bunted over to set up the scoring for that inning. With two outs, Harding pitcher Humes drove in both of those runs to claim the lead.
  • The Lady Bisons tacked on another run in the fourth aided by an error in the field, but SAU's pitcher Jill Roye struck out the final two batters in the inning to get out of the bases-loaded threat.
  • SAU recorded one hit in the final four innings and remained scoreless, but not before Harding added one-more to their lead in the seventh on wild pitch, 4-0 HU.

IN THE CIRCLE
  • Starting pitcher for SAU, Garner, suffered the loss in the circle after giving up three runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings.
  • Roye came in as relief for Garner half-way through the fourth and pitched her way out of a pair of bases-loaded innings only allowing one run.

AT THE PLATE
  • SAU stranded a total of four base runners in the game, all of which came in the first two innings.

UP NEXT
  • The Lady Muleriders will face Southern Nazarene tonight in an elimination game slated for 7:15 p.m.
