Arkadelphia, Ark. – The Lady Mulerider softball team split Saturday's doubleheader with Henderson State with a 12-0 final score in game one and a 6-1 loss in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 1
- Southern Arkansas tallied their first run of the game in the second inning on a fielding error.
- In the next inning, the Lady Muleriders tacked on a pair of runs on four hits. Goad led the inning off with a double before she was plated on Jill Roye's RBI double to left field. Megan Godoyo followed her up with an RBI single to left field to make it 3-0, SAU.
- The first of SAU's huge offensive innings came in the fourth after scoring four runs on three hits.
- In that frame, Yulissa Hinojosa singled and Goad drew a walk to set up Maddie Dow's 3-run blast to left field. A hit-by-pitch to Roye followed with a Duran single to center field and a walk issued to Monica Islava loaded the bases for Rachel Miller who wore a pitch to plate the final run of the inning, 7-0.
- The Lady Muleriders attacked again in the fifth inning after scoring five runs on a pair of hits. Duran hit an RBI single to plate the first run of the inning. Islava stroked a grand slam to right field that cushioned SAU's lead, 12-0 and allowed them to establish the run-rule over the Reddies.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Garner earned her 15th win of the season in the circle for SAU after throwing a scoreless game.
- Through five innings pitched, Garner allowed only three hits and struck out five.
- Garner did not issue any free passes.
AT THE PLATE
- Islava led the offense with four RBI's and a run scored including a grand slam.
- Dow was 2-for-3 at the dish with a homerun, a walk, three RBI's, and a pair of runs scored.
- Roye, Duran, Godoyo, and Miller each collected an RBI.
- SAU combined for seven walks and twelve runs on eleven hits in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 2
- The Reddies jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning after scoring three runs on one hit. A pair of fielding errors contributed to HSU's 3-run inning.
- An inning later, Henderson strung together a pair of hits that plated their fourth run of the game, 4-0 SAU.
- In the third inning for HSU, a pair of singles and a walk loaded the bases and resulted in an RBI single followed by an error that plated an extra run on the play.
- SAU's only run of the game came in the fourth courtesy of back-to-back doubles from Roye and Duran. Duran's shot was an RBI double to cente rfield.
- SAU went hitless in the next three innings and suffered the 6-1 loss to the Reddies.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Starting pitcher, Victoria Taylor, suffered the loss for SAU in the circle after allowing six runs on six hits through 2.2 innings pitched.
- Peyton Jenkins came in relief and shutout the Reddies through 3.1 innings pitched and allowed only three hits.
AT THE PLATE
- Duran had the only RBI of the game on a double.
- Dow, Roye, Godoyo, Casada, and Miller each collected a hit.

- The Lady Muleriders return to action next weekend for a 4-game series with GAC leader, Harding University. Friday's doubleheader is slated for 2 p.m. in Searcy, Arkansas at HU Softball Field.
