HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 1
  • Harding scratched the first run of the game in the first inning on a pair of hits. The lead-off hitter for the Lady Bison singled to right field and she was batted in a couple batters later on an RBI double from Payton Mills.
  • SAU matched Harding's score in the next inning on three consecutive singles from Tyler Casada, Marina Duran, and Rachel Miller. Miller's hit up the middle sent Casada home to tie the score at 1-all.
  • The Lady Bison answered in the bottom of the third with the go-ahead run on a fielding error that followed a single and scored the lead-off hitter of the inning, who previously reached base on a bunt single.
  • In the fourth inning, Harding extended their one run lead out to 3-1 on an RBI double by Payton Mills in the right center field gap.
  • In the seventh inning, SAU threatened with a pair of base runners on a Duran single and a hit-by-pitch to Miller. Pinch hitter, Taylor Stricklin, laid down the sacrifice bunt to move the runners to second and third. With one out, Harding's pitcher retired the next two batters leaving SAU unable to rally back.

IN THE CIRCLE
  • Peyton Jenkins suffered the loss in the circle for SAU with a 3-run on 6-hits effort through six innings pitched.
  • HU's starting pitcher, Johnson, picked up the win and allowed one run on seven hits.
