HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 1
  • Ouachita Baptist found their way onto the scoreboard in the top of the first inning.
  • That inning started with a lead-off single from Sarah Johnson before she was successfully bunted over to second base. With two runners on, a walk to Macy Wilson loaded the bases for Natalie Jackson as she plated Johnson on a sacrifice fly that gave the Lady Tigers the early 1-0 advantage.
  • SAU retaliated in the bottom of that frame as Maddie Dow hit a one-out single and eventually advanced to second on a wild pitch before crossing the plate on an RBI single up the middle from Jill Roye that tied the game at 1-all.
  • In the bottom of the third inning, Dow sent a solo shot out of the park that allowed SAU to gain the lead over the Tigers, 2-1.
  • OBU remained hitless in the next three innings as the Lady Muleriders ran away with the 6-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth.
  • That inning started with a solo homer to centerfield off the bat Brooke Goad. Back-to-back singles from Roye and Megan Godoyo put runners on first and second for Tyler Casada as she undoubtedly belted a 3-run homerun over the left-centerfield fence that gave SAU their 6-1 advantage, and eventually the win in game one.

IN THE CIRCLE
  • Starting pitcher, Victoria Taylor, picked up her 14th win in the circle for SAU after a dominant pitching performance through six innings pitched.
  • Taylor held the Lady Tigers to a lone run on a pair of hits while also striking out five.
  • Peyton Jenkins closed out the game in the circle for SAU in the seventh inning without allowing any hits or runs, and recording one strikeout.
  • OBU's starting pitcher, Kelsey O'Brien, suffered the loss in the circle after allowing six runs on nine hits through 5.2 innings pitched.

AT THE PLATE
  • The Lady Muleriders combined for six runs on nine hits in the game with a third of those hits being homeruns.
  • Casada led the SAU offense with three RBI's that all came on a homerun.
  • Dow and Roye each followed with 2-for-3 efforts at the dish and an RBI.
  • Goad had an RBI in the game on a homerun.
  • Rachel Miller recorded a pair of hits.
  • Dow's homer was her 16th on the year.
  • SAU out-hit their opponent 9-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 2
  • The first couple of innings were scorless for both teams as OBU scratched a lone run in the top of the third on a pair of hits.
  • SAU stranded a pair of runners in the bottom of that frame as Duran led off the inning with a standup double in the right-centerfield gap before she was advanced to third base a batter later on a single from Dow.
  • In the bottom of the fifth inning with two outs, Dow left the yard again with another solo blast that tied the game at 1-all.
  • OBU went hitless in the next two innings before Southern Arkansas tallied the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
  • Monica Islava got that inning started as she bashed a double to the left field wall before Miller's single to left field advanced Islava to third base. A 5-pitch walk to Yulissa Hinojosa loaded the bases for Duran. Duran watched three balls and a strike in her at-bat before sending the next pitch she saw into shallow left field that favorably plated the winning run for SAU, allowing the Lady Muleriders to take game two in walk off fashion with a final score of 2-1.

IN THE CIRCLE
  • SAU out-hit their opponent 8-4 in game two with three of those hits going for extra bases.
  • Dow was 2-for-3 at the plate with a homerun and a run scored; Dow's homerun in game two counted as her 17th of the season.
  • Duran collected the other RBI of the game with a 2-for-4 effort at the plate.
  • Goad, Casada, Islava, and Miller each collected a hit in the game.

AT THE PLATE
  • Roye picked up the win in the circle for SAU as she did not allow any runs or hits through 1.2 innings pitched.
  • Through 5.1 innings, starting pitcher for SAU, Kaylee Garner gave up only one run on four hits while striking out four.
  • OBU's starting pitcher, Butler, suffered the loss in the circle after allowing a pair of runs on eight hits in six innings pitched.
