Southern Arkansas Lady Muleriders: 19-3, 9-1 GAC
Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm: 5-13, 3-7 GAC

PITCHING DECISIONS- GAME 1
W: Katelyn Brown (3-4)
L: Victoria Taylor (10-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 1
  • The game remained scoreless until the top of the third inning when SNU found the board on an RBI single up the middle off the bat of Mahina Sauer.
  •  Sauer batted in the second run for the Crimson Storm in the fifth inning with a single down the left field line that gave SNU a 2-0 advantage going into the sixth.
  • The Crimson Storm put up three runs on three hits to extend their lead out to 5-0 in the top of the sixth inning.
  • The Lady Mulerider bats woke up in the bottom of that frame as they found their way onto the scoreboard with three runs on four hits. That inning started with a solo blast to left field from Monica Islava followed with a single from Megan Godoyo and a double down the left field line off the bat of Tyler Casada, resulting in a pair of runners on the base paths for Maddie Dow. Dow subsequently plated both of those runs with a single to center field that brought SAU to just two runs shy of the Crimson Storm.
  • SAU held the Crimson Storm offense off in the seventh inning, but couldn't come away with any more runs in the bottom of that frame, thus suffering their first conference loss, 5-3.

IN THE CIRCLE
  • Starting pitcher, Victoria Taylor, took her first loss of the season bringing her to a 10-1 win-loss record.
  • In Taylor's five innings pitched, she struck out five and gave up all five of SNU's runs after scattering nine hits.

AT THE PLATE
  • Dow led the offense with a pair of RBI's on one hit including a walk.
  • Islava collected an RBI on a pair of hits including a homerun and one run scored.
  • Marina Duran, Godoyo, Casada, and Yulissa Hinojosa each tallied a hit, with Godoyo and Casada each scoring a run.

PITCHING DECISIONS- GAME 2
W: Kaylee Garner (8-0)
L: Mahina Sauer (2-5)

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 2
  • SAU put up four runs on two hits in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 4-0 lead. Goad led things off with a solo bomb off the scoreboard in right centerfield. A few batters later, Islava left the yard with a 3-run bomb out to left centerfield.
  • SAU plated a pair of additional runs in the bottom of the second on a couple of errors in the field to extend their lead out to 6-0.
  • SNU plated a run in the top of the third on an RBI double to left field off the bat of Hannah LeBeau.
  •  The Lady Mulerider offense had a 4-run inning on four hits in the bottom of the fourth that brought the score to 10-1 SAU. Goad's double to left field got the rally started before Dow ripped a double down the left field line that plated the first run of the inning.
  • In that same frame, Duran sent an RBI double into the left centerfield gap that scored Dow. Casada followed with an RBI single through the left side that gave SAU a 9-1 advantage over the Crimson Storm. Duran crossed the plate shortly after on a wild pitch that gave the Lady Muleriders their tenth and final run of the game before holding off SNU's offense in the top of the fifth to claim the 10-1 run-rule victory.

IN THE CIRCLE
  • Starting pitcher, Kaylee Garner, picked up her eighth win in the circle for SAU with a one-run pitching performance.
  • In five innings pitched, Garner scattered just five hits and a pair of walks while striking out six against 22 batters faced.
