TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Kimberly Crown led five Lady Muleriders in double-figure scoring and Southern Arkansas led by as much as 13 in the third quarter, before Northeastern State engineered a second half surge courtesy of 14 makes from the free throw as SAU fell 86-76 on the road inside the NSU Event Center on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED – 1st HALF
- The Lady Muleriders wasted no time jumping out front in Wednesday's non-conference affair as it led through the opening quarter's first five-plus minutes before NSU's Lauryn Blevins connected on a jumper to tie the game at nine with 4:46 to play in the first quarter.
- Kimberly Crown, SAU's top scorer, delivered with seven points in that time span and added a layup that cut the Lady Mulerider deficit to 12-11 after the Riverhawks took their first lead of the game following a Cailyn Long three-pointer that broke the nine-nine tie.
- Crown's bucket was the first of a 9-0 run for Southern Arkansas who received a basket from Angela Villarreal and five straight points from Olivia McWilliams before NSU scored with 1:45 remaining to pull within two possessions at 18-14.
- Villarreal knocked down a triple try for SAU's next points and 15 seconds later, Crown converted two attempts from the charity stripe as the Lady Mulerider lead grew to nine, 23-14, with 1:18 to play of the opening ten minutes.
- With 55 seconds left, Anna Djedjemel bottomed a trifecta on an assist from Villarreal as Southern Arkansas' lead grew to a dozen. The Riverhawks would close the quarter on a 5-0 run to take a 26-19 deficit into the final ten minutes of the first half.
- Crown assisted Djedjemel on her second-consecutive three-pointer to put the SAU advantage back to double figures on the first play of the second quarter.
- The Riverhawks would answer Djedjemel's three with a three-pointer of their own and in the process begin a 13-3 run that tied the game at 32 with just under eight minutes remaining in the first half.
- Southern Arkansas would only manage to build its lead to as much as four over the next six minutes of action as the Riverhawks tied the game at 44 with 1:29 to play.
- Crown added a free throw and Sue Key scored inside with less than ten seconds to play in the half to give Southern Arkansas a three-point lead into the intermission.
HOW IT HAPPENED – 2nd HALF
- The halftime break proved beneficial for the Lady Muleriders, at least through the first five minutes of the second half, as they manufactured a 14-4 run that grew the SAU lead to 13, 61-48, with 5:03 remaining in the third quarter.
- Djedjemel was responsible for the three-pointer that put Southern Arkansas out front by 13 and that field goal would be the last of the quarter for the Lady Muleriders as Northeastern State took control in the final five minutes and finished the quarter on a 16-1 highlighted by three-pointers from Long and Destiny Strange within six seconds of each other at the third quarter horn that gave the Riverhawks their first lead since the 3:47 mark of the first quarter.
- The 64-62 NSU lead would hold through the first two minutes of the first quarter before Strange scored inside to push the lead to four. The lead would grow to a dozen down the stretch as NSU avenged last December's overtime loss to the Lady Muleriders.
- It would prove to be Northeastern State's afternoon as the Riverhawks shot 18 free throws, converting 14, in the fourth quarter after having made just three in four attempts during the game's first 30 minutes of action.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Crown dropped 15 points and added a dozen rebounds in her second double-double effort of the season. It is the third time this campaign that the sophomore has scored 15 or more points.
- Ramiah Henry followed with 14 points with McWilliams and Key adding a dozen each. Djedjemel scored 11 points and followed Crown in rebounding with five.
- McWilliams posted team-highs in assists (4) and steals (3).
- Southern Arkansas was 6-of-11 from three-point range in the first half, but finished just 7-of-20 from deep for the game.
