DURANT, Okla. – Hot second-half shooting by Southeastern Oklahoma, which included a 56.7% success rate from the floor (17-of-30) and a 50.0% clip from beyond the arc (7-of-14) in the final two quarters, proved to be the difference on Thursday evening inside Bloomer Sullivan Arena as the Savage Storm defeated Southern Arkansas 78-58 in a Great American Conference affair.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southeastern Oklahoma led by just a bucket, 17-15, after a first quarter that saw four ties and five lead changes. SAU's largest lead of the game was 6-2 and came with 5:41 to play in the opening quarter.
- An Ariannah Kemp basket with just under a minute remaining in the first ten minutes broke a 15-15 tie and put the brakes on the lead changes as the Savage Storm would remain in front for the remainder of the contest.
- Twice the Lady Muleriders scored to cut their deficit to a bucket in the second quarter and twice SOSU answered with a basket to remain in front by two possessions.
- The aforementioned second half saw the Savage Storm hoist 14 trifectas, while making seven as they received 18 points from their bench.
- A layup from Kimberly Crown with just over seven minutes to play in the game and an inside basket by Jasmyn Eckerman two minutes later kept Southern Arkansas within 13 points, but back-to-back deep three-pointers by Olivia Potter after each of those baskets put the Savage Storm up 16 and ended a potential momentum-shifting late run by the Lady Muleriders.
FOR SOUTHERN ARKANSAS
- Eckerman led the Lady Muleriders with 14 points and added four rebounds, an assist and one steal.
- Anna Djedjemel followed with a dozen points and two blocks, while Crown finished with ten points and a team-high six rebounds.
- Aaliyah Holmes paced Southern Arkansas with five assists.
FOR THE OPPOSITION
- Four players scored in double figures as Potter and Katie Webb led SOSU with 14 points each, while Kemp and Rachel Wallace added a dozen points apiece.
- Sa'Liesha Hunter orchestrated the SOSU offense with nine assists, while Kemp produced a pair of steals.
- Emem David grabbed a game-high ten rebounds and added seven points.
OF NOTE
- Southeastern Oklahoma has won five of their past six games.
- The Lady Muleriders committed a season-low 10 turnovers, but also grabbed a season-low 27 rebounds as the Savage Storm won the battle on the boards, 39-27.
- Southern Arkansas led in second-chance points (15-6), while SOSU outshot the Lady Muleriders from the charity stripe, 78.6% (11-of-14) to 61.9% (13-of-21).
