Tipping Off
The Southern Arkansas women's basketbal team is set to enter in to the stretch run of their 2015-16 regular season schedule as they will once again play five games in the span of 10 days with their final two games of the regular season to follow the week after.

During this stretch run, the Lady Muleriders will be looking to take advantage of a back-loaded home schedule as five of their remaining seven regular season games are
at the W.T. Watson Center.

This five-game in 10-days go-round will see the Lady Muleriders play on the road at Henderson State this Thursday and then host home games against Arkansas Tech this
Saturday and Arkansas-Monticello on the following Monday.

In their games against Henderson State and Arkansas-Monticello, the Lady Muleriders will be looking to earn season sweeps while their game against Tech, they will be looking to even the season series.
 

LADY MULERIDER NEWS AND NOTES
The Southern Arkansas women's basketball team enters play this weekend with a 13-6 overall record and a 9-6 mark in the Great American Conference. The Lady Muleriders are coming off of a loss in the last game, a 98-80 defeat at Southwestern Oklahoma. The game prior to that, SAU picked up a road win at Northwestern Oklahoma, 77-56.

On the season, the Lady Muleriders are averaging 75.9 points per game while allowing their opponents to score an average of 70.9 points per game for a scoring margin of +5.1. Their points per game average ranks third in the GAC, while their scoring defense ranks eighth and their scoring margin ranks fourth within the league.

As a team, the Lady Muleriders are shooting .454 (565-of-1,244) overall from the floor which includes a shooting mark of .325 (74-of-228) from long range. From the free throw line, the Lady Muleriders are shooting .658 (239-of-363). Their overall field goal percentage ranks second in the GAC while their 3-point field goal percentage ranks seventh. At the charity stripe the Lady Muleriders' percentage ranks 12th.

In terms of individual production, the Lady Muleriders have three players averaging double figures with Rosa Bryant leading the way at 19.9 points per game. Bryant's scoring average currently ranks third in the GAC and 13th in DII. Shana Holmes is next in double-figure scoring at 13.5 ppg. Tierra Tucker rounds out double-figure scoring at 11.0 ppg. Bryant is also the team's leading rebounder at 11.8 rebounds per game. Additionally, Bryant's rebounding average currently ranks first in the GAC and 10th in DII.

Defensively, the Lady Muleriders have forced 323 turnovers with 159 of those being steals. Additionally, the Lady Muleriders are allowing their opponents to shoot at a clip of .388 (458-of-1,181) overall from the floor and .322 (140-of-435) from beyond the arc.

COACH
The Lady Muleriders are coached by Julio Pacheco, who is in his first season at Southern Arkansas. Prior to becoming the head coach at SAU, Pacheco spent seven seasons as the assistant coach at Arkansas Tech where he helped guide the Golden Suns to the NCAA Tournament four times, advancing as far as the Elite Eight twice. Also while at Tech, Pacheco helped the Golden Suns capture four regular season championships and three conference tournament championships.
 

SCOUTING HENDERSON STATE
The Henderson State women's basketball team enters play this weekend with a 9-12 overall record and an 8-7 mark in the Great American Conference. The Reddies have lost three games in a row with their last win coming at home against Southern Nazarene on January 28.

On the season, the Reddies are averaging 69.7 points per game while allowing their opponents to score an average of 72.3 points per game for a scoring margin of -2.6. Their points per game average ranks seventh in the GAC, while their scoring defense ranks ninth and their scoring margin ranks eighth within the league.

As a team, the Reddies are shooting .398 (504-of-1,267) overall from the floor which includes a shooting mark of .325 (134-of-412) from long range. From the free throw line, the Reddies are shooting .663 (322-of-486). Their overall field goal percentage ranks sixth in the GAC while their 3-point field goal percentage ranks sixth. At the charity stripe the Reddies' percentage ranks 11th.

In terms of individual production, the Reddies have three players averaging double figures with Dulincia Keener leading the way at 17.3 points per game. Keener's points per game currently rank her sixth in the GAC. Behind Keener is Victoria Stewart at 12.9 ppg. Haleigh Henson rounds out double-figure scoring at 10.6 ppg. to rank third on the team.

Defensively, the Reddies have forced 298 turnovers with 127 of those being steals. Additionally, the Reddies are allowing their opponents to shoot at a clip of .400 (554-of-1,386) overall from the floor and .297 (108-of-364) from beyond the arc.

COACH
The Reddies are coached by Jill Thomas, who is in her third season at Henderson State. In her previous two seasons, Thomas has led the Reddies to a 23-31 overall record. Prior to coming to Henderson, Thomas was the head coach at Pfeiffer University for four years. In her time at Pfeiffer, Thomas would go 65-48 including a 25-7 mark in
her final season.

THE SERIES
This is will be the 34th meeting since the start of the 1999-2000 season between the Lady Muleriders and the Reddies. In that time, the Reddies hold a 21-12 advantage over SAU.
 

SCOUTING ARKANSAS TECH
The Arkansas Tech women's basketball team enters play this weekend with a 17-2 overall record and an 15-0 mark in the Great American Conference. The Golden Suns have won 15 straight conference games and 11 straight games overall.

On the season, the Golden Suns are averaging 83.5 points per game while allowing their opponents to score an average of 62.6 points per game for a scoring margin of +20.8. Their points per game average ranks first in the GAC, while their scoring defense ranks second and their scoring margin ranks first within the league.

As a team, the Golden Suns are shooting .483 (573-of-1,187) overall from the floor which includes a shooting mark of .370 (128-of-346) from long range. From the free throw line, the Golden Suns are shooting .706 (312-of-442). Their overall field goal percentage ranks first in the GAC while their 3-point field goal percentage also ranks first. At the charity stripe the Golden Suns' percentage ranks ninth.

In terms of individual production, the Golden Suns have two players averaging double figures with Fatima Adams leading the way at 20.5 points per game. Adam's points per game currently rank her second in the GAC. Behind Adams and rounding out double figure scoring is Anissa Pounds at 11.8 ppg.

Defensively, the Golden Suns have forced 338 turnovers with 149 of those being steals. Additionally, the Golden Suns are allowing their opponents to shoot at a clip of .372 (410-of-1,101) overall from the floor and .276 (85-of-308) from beyond the arc.

COACH
The Golden Suns are coached by Dave Wilbers, who is in his ninth year at Arkansas Tech. In his previous eight seasons, Wilbers has amassed a 191-49 overall record. Among that, he has had six seasons with 20 or more wins and twice, he has won 30 or more games.

THE SERIES
