RECORDS
Williams Baptist Eagles (3-5)
Southern Arkansas Muleriders (4-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Snyder Cenecharles scored the game's first five points as SAU grabbed a quick 5-0 lead over the Eagles. Minutes later, SAU held a 9-3 lead, but a 6-0 run by the Eagles knotted the game at 9-all with 14:22 left in the first half.
  • That tie score would not last long as on the Muleriders' ensuing possession, Cenecharles made good on a layup to put SAU back on top of the scoreboard.
  • The Muleriders went on to score the next 10 points of the game as they began to separate themselves. During that run, CJ Elkins buried a pair of trifectas while DeSean Dockery and Tony Aska each added layups as well.
  • The Muleriders would lead the Eagles by double-digits the remainder of the half with their largest advantage being 19 points, 34-15, thanks to a made three-pointer by Keeton Tennison with 4:35 remaining. SAU took a 15-point lead in the locker room.
  • In the second half, SAU went from being in control to totally dominating the Eagles. By the first media timeout, the Muleriders had grown their lead out to over 20 points, and as the half wore on, SAU was able to continue to pad their lead with little resistance from Williams Baptist.
  • Defensively in the second half, SAU was stifling, eventually holding the Eagles to just 12 points on four made field goals and four made free throws in the entire half.
