Lady Muleriders defeated by Harding in straight sets

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – GAC-leading Harding defeated the Lady Muleriders in straight sets (25-27,9-25,20-25) on Tuesday evening inside the W.T. Watson Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
  • The Lady Muleriders battled back from deficits of 16-8 and 20-12 in the opening frame to take a 22-21 lead courtesy of a 10-1 run, before the Lady Bisons grabbed back the momentum to win the set 27-25.
  • It was all Harding in set two as the Lady Bisons opened the frame on a 13-2 run, before notching the final six points of the set to win 25-9.
  • Southern Arkansas led 7-6 in the third set and fought back from a 19-13 disadvantage to pull within 20-19, before falling short 25-20.

FOR THE OPPOSITION
 
  • A trio of Lady Bison recorded eight kills: Zoe Hardin, Alex Nolan and Emily Clayton.
  • Hardin led Harding with seven total blocks as HU finished with ten as a team.
  • Abigail Glosup recorded 28 assists, while Nolan led all players with 16 digs. Taylor Lake added 15 digs.
 
OF NOTE
 
  • The Great American Conference race heats up with a week and a half left in the regular season. Due to the loss, SAU remains in a tie for 8th-place with East Central. The Lady Muleriders have the head-to-head win over ECU, but dropped their lone meeting with SWOSU, who is a game up in the loss column due to not being active on Tuesday night.
  • The Lady Muleriders are a win away from their tenth win of the season. It would be the seventh season in a row that the Lady Muleriders have recorded ten or more wins.
