Tipping Off
The Southern Arkansas women's basketball team is looking to close out their week-long, three-game home stand on a high note as they welcome in Southeastern Oklahoma.
Thus far, the Lady Muleriders are 1-1 on the stand with a loss to Harding to start and a win against East Central in their most-recent game played.

Saturday's game will be the second meeting this season between the Lady Muleriders and Savage Storm with the Lady Muleriders coming away with the win the first time out in Durant, 67-64.
 

LADY MULERIDER NEWS AND NOTES
The Southern Arkansas women's basketball team enters play on Thursday with a 12-4 overall record and an 8-4 mark in the Great American Conference. The Lady Muleriders are coming off of a win in their last game, a 70-59 defeat of East Central.

On the season, the Lady Muleriders are averaging 77.0 points per game while allowing their opponents to score an average of 70.1 points per game for a scoring margin of +6.9. Their points per game average ranks third in the GAC, while their scoring defense ranks seventh and their scoring margin ranks in a tie for second-place within the league.

As a team, the Lady Muleriders are shooting .470 (481-of-1,024) overall from the floor which includes a shooting mark of .333 (64-of-192) from long range. From the free throw line, the Lady Muleriders are shooting .656 (206-of-314). Their overall field goal percentage ranks second in the GAC while their 3-point field goal percentage ranks in a tie for fourth. At the charity stripe the Lady Muleriders' percentage ranks 11th.

In terms of individual production, the Lady Muleriders have three players averaging double figures with Rosa Bryant leading the way at 20.6 points per game. Bryant's scoring average currently ranks second in the GAC and eighth in DII. Shana Holmes is next in double-figure scoring at 14.3 ppg. Tierra Tucker rounds out double-figure scoring at 10.4 ppg. Bryant is also the team's leading rebounder at 12.3 rebounds per game. Additionally, Bryant's rebounding average currently ranks fourth in DII.

Defensively, the Lady Muleriders have forced 279 turnovers with 138 of those being steals. Additionally, the Lady Muleriders are allowing their opponents to shoot at a clip of .384 (381-of-993) overall from the floor and .321 (114-of-355) from beyond the arc.

COACH
The Lady Muleriders are coached by Julio Pacheco, who is in his first season at Southern Arkansas. Prior to becoming the head coach at SAU, Pacheco spent seven  seasons as the assistant coach at Arkansas Tech where he helped guide the Golden Suns to the NCAA Tournament four times, advancing as far as the Elite Eight twice. Also while at Tech, Pacheco helped the Golden Suns capture four regular season championships and three conference tournament championships.
 

SCOUTING SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA
The Southeastern Oklahoma women's basketball team enters play on Saturday with a 7-11 overall record and a 5-7 mark in the Great American Conference. The Savage Storm will also enter play riding a three-game winning streak as they have knocked off Southwestern Oklahoma, Southern Nazarene, and Arkansas-Monticello over the last
week.

On the season, the Savage Storm are averaging 70.1 points per game while allowing their opponents to score an average of 67.8 points per game for a scoring margin of +2.2. Their points per game average ranks seventh in the GAC, while their scoring defense ranks fifth and their scoring margin ranks sixth within the league.

As a team, the Savage Storm are shooting .418 (448-of-1,073) overall from the floor which includes a shooting mark of .339 (148-of-436) from long range. From the free throw line, the Savage Storm are shooting .743 (217-of-292). Their overall field goal percentage ranks second in the GAC while their 3-point field goal percentage ranks third. At the charity stripe the Savage Storm's percentage ranks second.

In terms of individual production, the Savage Storm have two players averaging double figures with Olivia Potter leading the way at 15.0 points per game. Potter's points per game currently rank her in a tie for seventh in the GAC. Behind Potter is Kaylee Baxter at 11.5 ppg. Rachel Wallace is just outside double-figure scoring at 9.8 ppg. to rank third on the team.

Defensively, the Savage Storm have forced 284 turnovers with 89 of those being steals. Additionally, the Savage Storm are allowing their opponents to shoot at a clip of .414 (449-of-1,085) overall from the floor and .330 (118-of-358) from beyond the arc.

COACH
The Savage Storm are coached by Darin Grover, who is in his 11th year at Southeastern. In his previous 10 seasons, Grover has amassed a 156-124 record. During his tenure, Grover has three 20 or more win seasons with the last most-recent one coming last year when the Savage Storm went 20-10.
 

THE SERIES
This is will be the 16th meeting since the start of the 1999-2000 season between the Lady Muleriders and the Savage Storm. In that time, the Savage Storm hold a 10-4 advantage over SAU.

ON TAP
The Lady Muleriders will head out on the road for a pair of GAC games in Oklahoma as they are set to take on Northwestern Oklahoma on Thursday, February 4 and then Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday, February 6.
