MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas Volleyball team will face their first road test of their Great American Conference schedule tonight as they travel north into Arkadelphia for a 6 p.m. matchup with Henderson State inside the Duke Wells Center.
The Lady Muleriders (4-7, 0-2 GAC) are coming off back-to-back conference losses at home and need a victory tonight in Clark County to pull them back into what looks to turn into a tight Great American Conference race throughout the season.
Offensively, Southern Arkansas boasts the third-best hitting percentage in the Great American Conference at a clip of .198, behind only Ouachita and Arkansas Tech. Leading that charge for the Lady Muleriders is senior middle hitter
Emilie Aase with an individual attack percentage of .322; the fourth-highest mark in the GAC. Junior outside hitter
Serena LeDuff paces the SAU attack with 3.44 kills per set, while senior outside hitter
Shelby Lauterbach adds 2.56 kills per set.
If it happens offensively, it happens through senior setter
Taylor Reaume who is second in the Great American Conference by averaging 9.81 assists per set. Reaume's 422 assists are the third most in the conference.
Junior defensive specialist
Hannah Rice's sixth-best digs per set average of 4.93 and junior middle hitter
Kaitlyn Reiner's .66 blocks per set lead the Lady Mulerider defense.
For Henderson State (1-13, 0-2 GAC), Jessie Jacoby leads the Reddies with 3.39 kills per set, while Brea May adds 6.16 assists per set. Defensively, Sydney Skelton produces 3.02 digs per set.
On Saturday, Southern Arkansas will play in Conway against NAIA-affiliated Central Baptist College. First-serve for that contest is scheduled for 5 p.m.
