BETHANY, Okla. – Rosa Bryant registered her third double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds in a season-high 39 minutes of action while three more Lady Muleriders recorded ten or more points, but Southern Arkansas suffered an overtime road loss to Southern Nazarene, 71-68 inside the Sawyer Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Muleriders (5-16, 3-12 GAC) led 30-26 at the break before Bryant scored inside with just over 2:30 to play in the game to tie the contest at 59. Each team converted 1-of-2 free throws to force bonus basketball.
At the 3:41 mark of the extra period, Southern Arkansas led by four, 64-60, courtesy of a pair of
Brianna Sifford free throws and a bucket down low from Bryant.
After a Crimson Storm run,
Chanel Miller connected on two free throw attempts to pull SAU within one, 69-68, before SNU decided the Great American Conference contest at the line with two free throws with 14 seconds left that proved to be the difference.
The Lady Muleriders will return to action with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off on Thursday, February 12, as they welcome East Central University into the W.T. Watson Athletic Center for a Great American Conference matchup.
