GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – An 8
th inning rally by the Southern Arkansas Mulerider baseball team proved to be not enough as #21 Texas A&M-Kingsville scored three runs in the top half of the 9
th inning to defeat the Muleriders 6-4 on Saturday evening inside QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Chase Harvey and
Jon Phillips each banged out a pair of hits and Phillips drove in all four runs for #6 Southern Arkansas which falls to 4-3 on the season.
On the mound,
Timothy Buchanan worked 8.1 innings before being relieved by
Jace Powers. The Javelinas scored two runs on a sac bunt to break a 4-4 tie that would give TAMUK a 6-4 lead and their first win in three games during the QuikTrip DII Classic.
