MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Southern Arkansas men's basketball team led wire-to-wire against Central Baptist College on Saturday afternoon at the W.T. Watson Center as SAU eventually cruised to an 84-65 win.
Three Muleriders would score in double figures for SAU (4-2) with redshirt freshman guard
CJ Elkins establishing another career-high in points as lead all scorers with 17. Just behind Elkins in scoring was
Jaron Davis as he scored 13 points. Next in line was
Alvin Braddock as he scored 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Braddock would also secure his first double-double of the year as matched his scoring output in rebounds, totaling a dozen.
As a team, the Muleriders would shoot over 50% from the floor for the second-straight game as they made good on 38-of-70 field goal attempts (.543) against the Mustangs (3-4). SAU would also hold advantages over the Mustangs in Rebounds (44-37), Points in the Paint (54-26), Points off of Turnovers (20-15), Fast Break Points (10-2), and Bench Points (30-28).
The Muleriders will now return their attention to Great American Conference play as they will remain at home over the next two games and will take on Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. followed by a matchup against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, December 5 at 3 p.m.
