OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Southern Arkansas women's golf team wrapped up play in the opening round of the 2015 UCO/RCB Bank Classic hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma on Monday at the par-71, 6,001-yard Lincoln Park East Golf Course in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Lady Muleriders would shot a team score of 335 to place 14th among the 15-team field and are just one stroke back of 13th-place, Fort Hayes State.
Leading the way for the Lady Muleriders on Monday was sophomore golfer
Helle Leed as the Vallda Halland, Sweden native shot a +5 (76). Highlighting Leed's opening round was a -1 effort on all Par-5s and a total of 12 pars for the round, which was the fifth-most among the field.
Behind Leed was freshman
Bailey Carr with an 85. Two strokes back of Carr and rounding out scoring for the Lady Muleriders were classmates
Brittany Lessard and
Alex Riley as both shot 87 on Monday. Junior golfer
Gabriela Clemence also played for the Lady Muleriders, carding an 89.
The second and final round of the UCO/RCB Bank Classic will be held Tuesday morning.
