MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Playing in their final action prior to Christmas Break, the Southern Arkansas men's basketball team took on Dallas Christian College inside the W.T. Watson Center on Tuesday night. The Muleriders, thanks in part to a strong second half, would come out victorious by a score of 76-61.
In that second half, the Muleriders (5-4) would nearly double their shooting percentage from the first half as they shot 62% (16-of-26) from the floor over the final 20 minutes. All told, the Muleriders would end the game shooting at a 47% clip (26-of-55).
Statistically, the Muleriders, as a team, would have season highs in assists (18) and rebounds (49) while also tying a season-high in blocks with 10. Individually, the Muleriders would have three players score in double figures with
Chauncy Williams leading the way with 22 points.
Behind Williams in scoring was
Jaron Davis with 16 points and
Alre'k Brown with 13 points. Brown would also notch his second double-double of the season has he pulled down a season-high 16 rebounds, 14 of which came on the defensive glass. Davis would add a season-high seven assists.
The Muleriders will now have some time off before they jump back into their season on Monday, December 29 with an exhibition game against Louisiana Tech. Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Ruston, La.
