Game NotesPowerful PineSAU's bench has outscored its opponent's bench in four of five games this season. In the Lady Muleriders' most recent outing versus Rogers State, the SAU bench produced 61 of 73 total points, accounting for 84 percent of scoring.
Full-Court PressureThroughout the season, one thing that can be expected from the SAU women's basketball team is that they will play a lot of full-court pressure defense. That up-tempo style of defense has frustrated opposing offenses to commit 121 turnovers. 66 (55%) of those forced turnovers have been a result of a steal by the Lady Muleriders. SAU is currently second in the GAC in turnover margin (+5.4).
Miller Continuing Solid PlaySenior
Chanel Miller, reigning GAC Newcomer of the Year, averaged 12 points and 3.5 rebounds at the TexAnn Tip-Off Classic, earning one of five spots on the All-Tournament Team among the four competing teams. Miller then poured in 19 first-half points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and free-throw line in the first half in SAU's most recent outing versus Rogers State.
Scouting the Opponent: TAMUCSenior forward La'Tisha Hearne will be the player to watch for the Lions, nearly averaging a double-double per game with 14.5 points and 9,3 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Princess Davis has been another offensive weapon for TAMUC and is also a double-digit scorer at 12.8 points per game. The Lions are tied for first in the Lone Star Conference with 43 rebounds per game, including second in the LSC with 14.8 rebounds on the offensive end. TAMUC has also shown its scoring potential thus far this season, averaging 68.3 points per game, good for second in the LSC.
