ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Entering Saturday afternoon's regular season finale, there were two scenarios in which the Southern Arkansas men's basketball team would be guaranteed a berth into the upcoming Great American Conference Tournament. The scenarios included a win at Henderson State or a loss by East Central.

After falling to Henderson by a score of 78-67, the latter scenario secured the Muleriders a spot in the GAC Tournament as East Central lost on the road to Arkansas Tech by a score of 60-46.

The Muleriders (10-16, 6-14 GAC) will be the No.8 seed in the tournament and will take on top-seeded Harding on Friday, March 8th. In two previous meetings with Harding, the Muleriders are 0-2, but have gone to overtime in each game. Friday's tournament game is scheduled to have a 6:00 p.m. tip-off time.

In the game against Henderson, the Muleriders out-rebounded the Reddies (14-12, 9-11 GAC) and shot 46% (26-of-57) while having three players score in double figures. Daviel Clements led the team in scoring with 16 points while Chris Davis and Duke Reed each added 11 points.
