Box Score
MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Sophomore guard
Katherine McBride scored 14 points and pulled down a season-high 15 rebounds as she registered her second double-double of the season in Southern Arkansas' home finale against Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday night in the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.
The Lady Muleriders (0-24, 0-19 GAC) would fall in their final home game of the season as the Cotton Blossoms (6-19, 3-16 GAC) picked up the win by a score of 76-40.
Polarizing first-half field goal percentages helped give the Cotton Blossoms a comfortable 47-11 lead heading into halftime. In that opening period, the Cotton Blossoms seemingly could not miss as they shot an outstanding 62% on 18-of-29 shooting. Conversely, the Lady Muleriders shot just 14% on 4-of-29 shooting in the first half.
The Cotton Blossoms would struggle shooting in the second half as their percentage decreased by 27%, while the Lady Muleriders would improve their field goal percentage in the second half. Despite the better shooting performance in the second half, however, the sizable deficit would be too much to overcome for the Lady Muleriders.
The Lady Muleriders will now conclude their season on Saturday, March 2nd as they will travel to Arkadelphia, Ark. to take on Henderson State. Tip-off for the season finale is set for 2:00 p.m.
