Hot-shooting by Harding sinks Lady Muleriders

SEARCY, Ark. – The Harding women's basketball team seemingly could not miss in their game against Southern Arkansas on Thursday evening as the Lady Bisons shot 61% (40-of-66) from the floor for the game en route to defeating the Lady Muleriders by a score of 97-42 inside the Rhodes Fieldhouse.  
 
The Lady Muleriders (0-22, 0-17 GAC) raced out to an early 5-0 lead over the first couple of minutes of the game, but the Lady Bisons (16-7, 12-5 GAC) would get their offense rolling soon thereafter as they grabbed their one and only lead with 17:15 remaining in the first half.
 
Minutes later, the Lady Bisons would begin an offensive surge that would last for the remainder of the game. With 14:53 remaining in the first half, the Lady Bisons clung to a one-point lead, 10-9, but a 15-0 run over the next three minutes of the game firmly put the Lady Bisons in control as they headed into the locker room with a 27-point advantage, 51-24. In that opening half, the Lady Bisons shot an outstanding 63% (20-of-32) from the floor.
 
Harding would not let up in the second half as they swelled their lead out to as much as 55 points by the end of the game, and shot 59% (20-of-34) in the second half.
 
Six Lady Muleriders would score in the contest with Tori Nichols leading the team with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
 
The Lady Muleriders will now return home and play host to Arkansas Tech on Saturday, February 23rd. Tip-off for the game against the Golden Suns is set for 2:00 p.m.
