WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southern Arkansas won its seventh consecutive match with a 3-1 decision over Southwestern Oklahoma State in Great American Conference volleyball action Friday at Rankin Williams Arena.
The Lady Muleriders (9-2, 4-0 GAC) won by scores of 11-25, 25-19, 25-19 and 25-20 against the Bulldogs (4-11, 2-2 GAC). SAU's 4-0 start in conference play matches its best beginning since the 1995 team achieved the same feat.
Junior outside hitter
Denise De Vine (Lake Elsinore, Calif.) led Southern Arkansas with a match-high 14 kills, hitting .314, and junior middle hitter
Cambria Martin (Tujunga, Calif.) added 10 kills.
The Lady Muleriders totaled 45 kills to SWOSU's 38, and also got eight service aces in the match. They started slow in dropping the first set 25-11, but finished strong, hitting .214 in the final fourth set in coming back from a 19-18 deficit late with a 7-1 run to seal the win.

Lauren Woods (Kennedale, Texas) had a match-high 21 digs in the contest, junior outside hitter
Courtney Geesing (Montrose, Colo.) chipped in 14, and junior setter
Klaire Blasco Vine (Downey, Calif.) had 13. Martin, Blasco Vine and senior middle hitter
Monica Cox (Channelview, Texas) each had three blocks.
Alison Cole led Southwestern with 12 kills and a match-high five blocks, including four solo.
SAU faces Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, Okla., in another league match Saturday at 2 p.m.
