Saturday's game between Southern Arkansas and Southwestern Oklahoma State is only the second meeting of the two teams, following last year's first encounter in which the Muleriders prevailed, 31-22, in Weatherford, Okla.  Through the years SAU had played nine other Oklahoma schools, but it took last year's formation of the Great American Conference and its inaugural season to finally bring the Muleriders and Bulldogs together on the field. 
 
Southern Arkansas is 41-29-4 against Oklahoma schools all-time in their 95th season of play, including a 29-22-3 mark versus SWOSU, and East Central, Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southeastern Oklahoma State, the other three Oklahoma brethren in the Great American Conference.
