Jordan Bickett enters her second season as a Graduate Assistant for the Lady Mulerider Volleyball program and will continue to serve as the team’s Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, while also working with the hitters and defensive specialists as well as assisting with the program’s daily operations on and off the court.
During her first season as a member of Coach Davis' staff, Bickett helped mold an incoming freshman class that now consists of sophomores Bailey Cagle, Morgan Gross, Alana Perez, and Lauren Smith. Additionally, Bickett provided insight to the Lady Mulerider defense that employed a front line which ranked fifth in total blocks (222.0) in the Great American Conference and sixth in blocks per set at 1.88. The total blocks mark stands as the fourth-most in a single-season by an SAU team in the Rally Scoring Era (RSE) and the most for Southern Arkansas since 2007, while the blocks per set average is the best such mark in ten years.
A native of Tallahassee, Florida, Bickett joined head coach Britney Davis’ staff for the 2017 season after a collegiate playing career that spanned four seasons with her most recent play coming at Augusta University of the Peach Belt Conference. While with the Jaguars, Bickett tallied 521 kills at 2.19 per set, while collecting 528 digs, 79 service aces, 79 assists, 75.0 total blocks and 641.0 total points in 238 career sets played over two seasons.
Prior to signing with Augusta University, Bickett played two seasons at NJCAA Division II Pasco-Hernando State College. In those two seasons with the Conquistadors, Bickett was a part of 64 wins and a NJCAA Division II Region 8 Championship. As a sophomore in 2014, she tallied 352 kills, 48 service aces, 196 digs and 75.0 total blocks on her way to being named an NJCAA Division II Second-Team All-America selection.
Bickett’s volleyball experience expands off the court as she has most recently served as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist Intern at Mercer University for the 2017 Spring Semester. While at Mercer, Bickett assisted and provided necessary instruction during team workouts and individual athlete sessions, while also aiding in data collection and recording as well as numerous other duties for the Strength and Conditioning Staff.
One year earlier, Bickett was selected for the Center of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Internship, where she worked with a team of other students to transcribe and analyze multiple interviews in a study on Effective Sports Coaching Cultures in High School Team Sport Settings with the findings being submitted at several top health and fitness education conventions across the country.
Bickett’s volleyball coaching career began while in junior college as she served as an assistant coach for a 12-to-15 year old club volleyball team in the Pasco-Hernando Volleyball Club/Tampa United Volleyball Academy for two seasons. Her duties included organizing practice, training and competition scheduling.
Academically, Bickett most recently graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology with a focus in Exercise Science from Augusta University in May of 2017. As a senior, Bickett was named to the Peach Belt Conference Volleyball All-Academic Team as well as being named the university’s Outstanding Undergraduate Kinesiology Student, while also receiving the NCAA Division II Athletic Director Association Academic Achievement Award.
She will be pursing a Master’s of Science degree in Kinesiology/Coaching from Southern Arkansas.
